The Greensburg District has been working with Kariba Church for several years to complete a number of projects, including the building of a new sanctuary as well as the development of several boreholes to support the surrounding communities.

"The Church of Kariba is alive and prides of varying age groups from infants to the elderly," reports Rev. Anne Zvingowaniseyi, Connectional Ministries Director of the Harare West District in Zimbabwe. "Through the Pastor’s efforts in his ministerial work, the message of hope and inspiring sermons, the Circuit has kept together. We thank God and the Church for the appointment of our Pastor in Charge for the year 2023."

"Our [WPAUMC] partners blessed us with $5,000 in 2020-21 and $4,000 in 2021-22. The assistance has, so far, greatly improved the Kariba Sanctuary and ablution block."

There is more work to be done to reach the finish line!

Greensburg District is launching a "Buy-a-Tile, Buy-a-Bench" campaign to fund the remaining sanctuary work of tiling the floor and constructing hardwood benches. Our goal is to raise $16,000 by the end of 2023 to fund these two sanctuary projects. You can help us reach this goal in a variety of ways. You can make a personal donation by clicking the button below or send a check to the conference center. (Make checks payable to WPAUMC and include on the memo line: GB/Harare West Partnership. Mail your check to WPAUMC, attn: AR/Kristin Poerschke, 1204 Freedom Drive, PO Box 5002, Cranberry Twp, PA 16066.)

Your church community can also participate by collecting a special offering or organizing a church fundraiser. Contact the Greensburg District office for assistance.
