The Many Faces of Poverty event will be held Saturday, April 21 in the Covenant Center of First UMC, 332 North Water Street, in Kittanning. It's designed for individuals and teams from local churches to expand their understanding of being in ministry with those struggling to survive and connect with God in community. Participants will hear some new ways to reach out and include all of those who need to hear and experience God's love and grace.

The day will include worship; keynote presentations by Brian Combs of Haywood Street Congregation in Ashville, NC; and Mary Ellen Kris of the Ministry With initiative of the General Board of Global Ministries; a panel discussion with leaders from local anti-poverty ministries, and displays with resources and information.

Panelists include Janet Elder, formerly of Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, Kristen Sands, parent of a child living with a disability; Keith Murphy, Director of Healthy Village Learning Institute, and Stephen Durant, Erie UM Alliance’s Veterans Affairs manager and Liberty House program supervisor.

Lunch is included in $10 cost.
