“Spending time with family is what I enjoy most,” says Valerie. “I am blessed to be able to visit my children and grandchildren, as well as extended family, often.  Through family nurturing and example, I learned to love myself and others. My mantra is ‘Pass it on’.”
Valerie’s passion is teaching. Although she retired in 2011, she maintains a connection to the profession as an adjunct professor of undergraduate studies in Literacy at SUNY College at Brockport.
“My United Methodist Women experiences continue to influence my faith journey and my life tremendously,” she says. “I view the world and my community through much wider lenses. Through the studies, committee work, engaging in leadership development opportunities and the sisterhood, I have become stronger, more confident and knowledgeable in living out the PURPOSE. I feel God calling me to stand taller; grab those opportunities to be a change agent in times such as these by sharing the gospel and continuing to love and serve others.”
