March 11, 10:00-3:30, Christ UMC, Franklin, PA
This workshop, held in conjunction with the Albright-Deering Lectures at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, will allow leaders to explore the meaning of trust in the church, in our communities and in the world. We will identify ways in which we can cultivate a high-trust culture and discover why it matters so much to discipleship and mission, both locally and globally. Uncovering research that is used across industries, Rev. Amy Valdez Barker will facilitate the conversations as the group takes real experiences and works together to discover adaptive solutions guided by the wisdom of the Holy Spirit.
For those who want to dive deeper and be ready to fully engage, Rev. Valdez Barker has provided a few articles and TED talks to consider here. Small groups or individuals may use this list for reflection leading up to March 11.
Rev. Amy Valdez Barker, is the Executive Director of Global Mission Connections with The UMC General Board of Global Missions. A John Wesley Fellow, she enjoys finding the cross-sections of our Wesleyan heritage and the society today to discern where we need to go.
The day will open with worship, then we will enjoy fellowship and lunch, followed by the workshop.
