The second annual Campership Bike-a-Thon will be a 315 mile ride from Pittsburgh to Washington D.C along the Great Allegheny Passage and C&O Canal Trail includes 6 days of riding, overnight accommodations, transportation back to Pittsburgh, and all meals.
What is the purpose of this trip? The main purpose of this Bike-A-Thon is to raise money and awareness for camperships. Additionally, participants will be physically challenging themselves while promoting abundant health; and through this experience the group will be exploring our role in dismantling racism through study, a time of worship in the oldest African American United Methodist church in Georgetown and a visit to the African American Heritage Museum.
How much will this trip cost? The cost to register is $150. However, because this is a fundraiser, each biker will have a minimum fundraising expectation of $500. With registration, you will receive a riding jersey printed with the trip logo.
Can I participate in part of the trip? Yes, we are offering two one-day options: the first day and a last day. A $75 registration fee applies. You will be responsible for transportation home for both yourself and your bike. Fundraising expectations remain the same at $500.
How can I prepare for this trip? Training is extremely important for the success of this trip. Upon registration, a suggested training schedule will be provided.
