Join with other bike-minded United Methodists on August 13-17 for a five day, 315 mile Bike-a-Thon from Pittsburgh to Washington D.C. to benefit camperships for the Bishop's Camping and Retreat Initiative!  Bikers will begin at Boston UMC, travel the Great Allegheny Passage and C&O Canal Trail, and complete the trip in Washington, D.C. with a visit to the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial.

The trip will begin with worship on August 13th at Boston UMC with Bishop Moore-Koikoi. Bikers may leave their cars at the church for the duration of the trip. Bikers and equipment will be transported back to Boston UMC at the conclusion of the trip.

What is the purpose of this trip? The main purpose of this Bike-A-Thon is to raise money and awareness for camperships. Participants will be physically challenging themselves while promoting abundant health, creating new places for new people and dismantling racism.

How much will this trip cost? The cost to register is $75. However, because this is a fundraiser, each biker will have a minimum fundraising expectation of $500. With registration, you will receive a riding jersey printed with the trip logo.

Where will bikers be sleeping? Bikes will be lodged at churches along the route.

Can I participate in part of the trip? Yes, you have the option of participating in partial trips. However, you will be responsible for transportation home for both yourself and your bike. Fundraising expectations remain the same at $500.

How can I prepare for this trip? Training is extremely important for the success of this trip. Upon registration, a training schedule will be provided.
