About Lanes Mills U M Church
The Lanes Mills United Methodist Church
was established in 1894 and serves the rural area of Brockway and surrounding small towns and villages
. It is part of a two-point charge with the Moorhead United Methodist Church located in the nearby town of Brockway. As part of a charge, both churches share a full time pastor who serves both congregations.
During the Covid-19 virus spring and summer of 2020, church services have established attendance procedures following the guidelines of the the CDC and United Methodist Conference. It is our prayerful hope the future will bring a return to our normal and active church life traditions. The Lanes Mills church has a traditional 9:30 a.m. Sunday service
focusing on God's word through the Holy Bible. It is a friendly, family church with a congregation representing a wide range of ages and backgrounds. On any given Sunday, an average attendance of 80 to 100 members will participate in the service that will include the traditional
scripture reading, children's lesson, pastor's sermon, and lots of music. The Lanes Mills Church is a music loving church
blessed with both talented pianists and organists to provide musical accompaniment for a congregation that loves to sing.
has been a part of the Lanes Mills history for many decades. There is an annual mission conference week and monthly reports on mission projects and people. The church takes seriously its opportunity to sponsor a number of missionaries around the country and world. It especially is committed to supporting the Ed Billingsley School in Haiti as Mr. Billingsley was a member of the Lanes Mills Church who traveled to Haiti on many occasions and helped establish the school there. Although the school has been closed in recent months, we hope to see it open and look forward to our continuing involvement with that mission of God's work.
The church facility also includes a new community Outreach Center
. It serves as an extension of the church building for worship activities centering on bringing community individuals and families into the church family. As the name implies, it's mission is to reach out to individuals from around the area and introduce them to God's word and work in the local area and throughout the world.
The Lanes Mills United Methodist Church welcomes all.
The church involves laity and clergy, people and God, people and people. For we have, and do, make up the Body of Christ. Our history has been, and continues to be, a people to Christ and membership in his church, growing in Christian maturity, maintaining warm fellowship, and involvement in ministry with the church and mission to the world.
