Our Greensburg District ranges from the former industrial mill-towns of the Allegheny Valley on the west; to the mountains and forests of the Ligonier area. The churches are located primarily along the Rt. 22 and Rt. 30 corridors, with a number of churches in the McKeesport area. In this geography, there is a great variety of demographics – rural, small town, urban; and a mix of health in the congregations. A variety of worship services and creative times for worship all help create new places for new people in the district. Our local churches have made themselves visible in “mission engagement” through a variety of creative opportunities to connect people with practical ministries as we utilize the expertise and resources of the district and WPA Conference and greater UMC. In addition, the Greensburg district has also extended our reach financially, and prayerfully, by supporting the work of the churches in the Harare West District of the Zimbabwe Conference of the UMC. The Greensburg District is an exciting place to serve God as clergy and congregations join together in ministry.
