Episcopacy Committee Thanks Bishop Moore-Koikoi

7/7/2022

The 2021-2022 Committee on Episcopacy today released a statement thanking Bishop Cynthia Moore-Koikoi for her continued care and leadership of the Western Pennsylvania Conference, while she also served with Bishop Sandra Steiner Ball of West Virginia as Interim Bishops of the Harrisburg Area, which includes the Susquehanna Conference. The shared leadership model was announced shortly before Harrisburg Area Bishop Jeremiah Park retired in 2021.

The 2021-2022 Committee on Episcopacy of The Western Pennsylvania Annual Conference would like to publicly thank Bishop Cynthia Moore-Koikoi for her tireless work on behalf of our conference. Even after adding the shared leadership of the Susquehanna Annual Conference along with Bishop Sandra Steiner Ball, Bishop Cynthia has continued to provide care and leadership as though no extra work had been added. Her example of shared leadership and care are why we are proud to call her our Bishop.

We are extremely grateful that the General Council on Finance and Administration Board approved monthly stipends for our Bishop along with 15 other Bishops who stepped up to lead more than one episcopal area during this time. Thank you Bishop Cynthia!

The General Council on Finance and Administration recently approved monthly stipends for 16 active bishops who have stepped up to lead more than one episcopal area since January 2021 as some bishops retired or took medical leave. Read the UM News Report.
