Annual Conference 2022

The 2022 Annual Conference session was held June 2-4 at the Erie Bayfront Convention Center. Due to a substantial increase in the spread of COVID-19 in Erie County in late May, masks were required inside the Convention Center. Details were in a May 27 email from Bishop Cynthia Moore-Koikoi. Read the email here.

The theme for the Annual Conference was Anchored in Christ, based on Hebrews 6:19.

We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain

The Annual Conference officially opened with worship at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 2. A Prayer Walk and worship was scheduled for 11 a.m. Ordination was Thursday evening.

Bible study and plenary sessions were held on Friday and Saturday morning, with a memorial service and closing worship at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 4.

Voting members of the annual conference received information about registration via email on February 23.  Read the email here.  It includes details on how to make lodging reservations for rooms in blocks that have been set aside at area hotels and offer a special Conference rate.

Local churches were encouraged to cover the $50 registration fee and hotel costs for voting members from their congregations for Thursday and Friday night.

The Clergy Session of Annual Conference was held May 12 at Dutilh UMC.
