Application for Health Ministry Recognition
The Health As Wholeness Team of the Western Pennsylvania United Methodist Conference invites all congregations, which presently have a Health Ministry, to participate in our first Pathways to WHoly Living Health Ministry Recognition Award.
Letter of Introduction for Parish Nurses and Health Ministers
The Purpose of the Award Recognition Program is Twofold:
- To recognize intentional health ministries that promote the spiritual, physical, emotional, relational, and environmental health of the United Methodist congregations and the communities they serve throughout Western Pennsylvania and
- To promote and encourage other WPA UM congregations to develop their own health ministries.
What Is Required For A Congregation To Participate?
- Must have an organized, functioning Health Ministry for at least one year. All activities must be based in a wholisitic approach.
- Send completed Registration/Application Form to healthteam@wpaumc.org or to
Barbara Lewis, WPA Health As Wholeness Coordinator,
509 Rondeau Drive, Erie, PA. 16505, by May 1, 2010.
- Prepare Poster (standard poster board size) demonstrating and promoting a Health Ministry activity of which you are most proud. Be creative! Posters will be displayed during this year's Annual Conference and will help the Conference Health As Wholeness Team to promote and encourage other congregations to begin a Health Ministries. Bring your Poster to the Health As Wholeness Table (located by the Registration Tables) by 12 noon Friday, June 11. Be sure to put your name and your Church's name on the back.
Great Reasons to Participate
- Be recognized by the WPA Conference for the good work your congregation has done in promoting health ministries.
- By sharing your ideas, you help improve the lives of others by promoting and encouraging other congregations to begin a health ministry.
- Others will become more aware of healthy activities, programs, and/or ministries going on throughout the WPA Conference.
- You will help others to understand what Health Ministry is all about.

At 2010 WPA Annual Conference, Grove City College, and on the Health As Wholeness pages of the WPA website.
