Nothing But Nets

March Madness is nearly upon us. It’s a perfect time to team up with others in your community, have fun,
and “Net” some contributions to sink malaria through the Nothing But Nets campaign! For just $10 you
and your friends can save a life in Africa.

Bishop Thomas J. Bickerton and the Conference Zimbabwe Partnership team have asked every church
in Western PA to enlist a partner in their community -- an individual, a school, Scout troop, sports team, club,
business, or service organization-- to help save lives by eliminating malaria.  The plan is for the church and
partner to sponsor a one-time event to raise money for Nothing But Nets, the campaign that's making progress
in combatting the disease that kills a child under 5 about every 30 seconds.  It’s a natural to tie the event to the
NCAA tournaments but there are a lot of other ideas for a project that is enjoyable, exciting and meaningful.
Use your imagination.

On April 25, for World Malaria Day, The United Methodist Church will publicly launch Imagine No Malaria,
our commitment to help those in need and eliminate death and suffering from malaria.  The Bishop sees it as
Nothing But Nets PLUS.  While providing bed nets continues to be a vital part of the solution, it will take improved
education about malaria, communication and treatment to overcome this disease.

Meanwhile, get involved in saving lives! When you share the story of how a $10 bed net can save the life of
a child, people are excited to get involved!
