Time to Form Teams for Haiti Recovery Work

It's time to form teams, raise funds and decide when you can volunteer in Haiti recovery work, according to the five United Methodist Volunteers in Mission regional coordinators.
Pending approval of funding for a U.S-based calendaring office and staffing in Haiti to assist with planning and hosting volunteers, teams may be on the ground in Haiti by April 1, the five regional UMVIM coordinators said in an e-mail. Many of you probably have heard the story of the people in an African village who purchased a television set. For weeks all of the children and adults gathered around the set watching it morning, afternoon, and night. But after a couple of months, the set was turned off and never used again. A visitor to the village asked the chief why.
