United Methodist Witness Becomes United Methodist Advocacy in PA

HARRISBURG – United Methodist Witness in Pennsylvania has a new name: United Methodist Advocacy in Pennsylvania.
“Communication requires quick, clear messaging,” said the Rev. Keith Benjamin of Carbondale, PA, chair of the UM Advocacy PA. “Changing our name from witness to advocacy removes any confusion about our role. We are advocates for the church and Jesus Christ.”

Consumers hit hard by the recession can cut their prescription costs by using the PS Card, a free prescription discount card available from The United Methodist Association of Health and Welfare Ministries.
Millions of the cards are now available through the association’s members and United Methodist churches across the United States, said the Rev. Dr. Mearle Griffith, chief executive of the association.
