Standing in St. Paul’s Cathedral in Pittsburgh before about 500 Christian, Muslim and Jewish people and their leaders at an Interfaith Prayer Service for the G20 Summit, 9th-grader Jeannie Choi said she was so nervous her legs were practically shaking. But Bishop Thomas J. Bickerton said Jeannie did a wonderful job representing United Methodist youth in proclaiming Paul’s message from 2 Corinthians 1: 2-4 in Korean.

Although it was somewhat intimidating, Jeannie said, “Overall, I think it was a good thing to do for the G20 Summit. It’s really amazing that 20 leaders including President Obama are meeting right now in Pittsburgh!” Jeannie, who enjoys playing in the Bentworth High School band, is the daughter of the Rev. Sang Kong Choi, pastor of Bentleyville and Houston UMCs, and his wife Grace.
