Social Justice

Develops and promotes programs and action on issues of social justice based on the United Methodist Social Principles and legislative actions of the Annual Conference.

Provides food, clothing, shelter and more to people in the Connellsville area from space in the Connellsville Community Center

Advocates for the inclusion of persons with disabilities and helps to develop programs and actions to meet the needs of those with disabilities.

An organization of United Methodist churches, laypersons, and pastors in the Erie-Meadville District organized in the name of Jesus Christ to meet the critical needs of people suffering from poverty and homelessness

Guides the Conference in strategically addressing issues of racial and ethnic inclusion.

Determines the distribution of Native American Ministries Sunday offering, and monitors and resources Native American ministries within the Conference.

Develops and implements a comprehensive plan for Western Pennsylvania’s response to the denomination’s Area of Focus on Poverty.

Provides resources and training to enable the work of the local church ministries which focus on religion and race.

Informs and sensitizes the leadership at all levels of the Conference regarding issues that affect women; extends their work into each district.

Since 1880, continues to work as a catalyst for transformation of people, congregations and communities in the Pittsburgh area in the name of Jesus Christ.

Provides a multitude of social services to the people of the Johnstown United Methodist District to improve life in the name of Jesus Christ. Offices are at First UMC in Johnstown.
