SPARK 2013

Approximately 600 youth and adult leaders attended SPARK Jan. 10-13, 2013 at the Sheraton Station Square in Pittsburgh. Bob Lenz was the keynote speaker. Adam Swiger and friends supplied the music and Theater Off the Cuff entertained.

2012 Youth School of Mission

Photos from the Youth School of Mission held July 8-12 at Grove City College and mission sites in the area. Participants built a ramp for a home, worked at Boaz Fields to grow food for the hungry, did repairs on homes, held a VBS program for area children; and worked at the Mission Barn. The Revs. Rick Nelson and Pamela Armstrong were deans of the youth school, which had divisions for middle school and high school age youth.

Annual Conference 2012 - Camping Report

Annual Conference --Youth Worker Awards

The Youth Ministry Team presented Youth Worker of the Year awards to one professional and one volunteer youth worker, as well as the Pineapple Award, given to someone who supports YMT efforts throughout the year.

Annual Conference 2012 - Youth Pizza Party, Flash Mob

Bishop Thomas Bickerton and his wife Sally had a late night pizza party with the youth delegates and pages on Thursday night at annual conference. The next day, the youth formed into a flash mob that appeared on the floor of the plenary room, dancing to (Doesn't Matter if You're) Black or White. Photos by the Rev. Rich Pearson.

2011 Youth School of Mission

Youth participants in the 2011 School of Mission completed several hands-on projects, building a ramp for handicap accessibility, working at a food pantry, helping with a children's program and laying a sidewalk at a mission agency.

Youth from several churches and their leaders gathered at the University of Pittsburgh's Johnstown campus the first week of July for four days of hands-on mission work, fellowship and fun. Projects involved building, sprucing up homes, or reaching out through a VBS-type program for children. Conference Youth Director Renaye Hoffman coordinated the effort.
