CONTINUING EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP AID
Western Pennsylvania Conference
1. The Board of Ordained Ministry provides individual scholarship aid to clergy members of the Conference. These grants are available to in-service clergy for Continuing Education opportunities. These grants are NOT available for basic degree requirements or Course of Study.
2. Individual accounts are established for four year cycles.
The current cycle began January 1, 2008 and will end in December 2011.
3. $1200 is the TOTAL available during the current cycle to clergy in full time service.
4. MAXIMUM GRANT for any single event is $500.
5. NO funds are carried into the next four year cycle.
6. Probationers' accounts are calculated as 1/2 funding until received as
Full Members.
7. Clergy serving less than full time receive funding in proportion to the
terms of appointment.
8. Retired clergy may receive 1/4 funding or a total of $300 for the cycle.
9. The event must meet individual clergy goals and priorities as approved by
the Pastor-Parish Relations Committee or its equivalent.
10. The annual minimum standard for active clergy is 4 C.E.U. 's.
(40 hours instruction).
11. Checks are issued by the Conference office to the clergy member.
12. If you are unable to attend the event, return the check to the Chair of
Continuing Education for credit to your account.
