The 2010 Spring Women's Spirituality Retreat
The book of Exodus begins with a story of women weaving together...
Over centuries and across cultures women of all ages have been weaving baskets. Some of these baskets have been beautiful, some useful, and many have been both.
Over the course of the retreat, participants will have the opportunity to weave a basket (or two!), learning the technique and the centering activity of the craft. Interwoven witht he basket-making will be times of prayer, reflection, worship and sharing with the story of Moses in the bullrushes as the scriptural center.
This retreat will be led jointly by Sr. Andre Fuelner and Rev. Sarah Roncolato.Sr. Andre Fuelner is a Sister of Saint Joseph in Erie, PA and has for years been a spiritual director, a retreat leader, and a basket weaver. She makes and sells baskets, and has directed numerous basket-making retreats.
Rev. Sarah Daniels Roncolato is a United Methodist clergy from WPA. She will facilitate the worship and sharing during this retreat. Rev. Roncolato is currently serving as a pastor for two churches in the Western Pennsylvania Conference.
CEU's: 1 Continuing Education Credit can be awarded for 10 contact hours.
Cost: $192.00 per person. (private room additional $20). Cost of this retreat includes room & board, as well as all of the materials requred to make your basket.
