Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.  (Matthew 5:6)
 
Often in our lives we experience a hunger for something to feed our souls. It’s a need to connect more closely, to align our lives with God’s purpose. Jesus tells us in the Sermon on the Mount that those who hunger for righteousness will be filled.
 
 "Stir Up a Hunger” is the worship theme for our 2011 Western PA Annual Conference, June 9 -13 at Grove City. The aim is to renew a hunger for God and excite a passion for making disciples for the transformation of the world.
 
Stirring up our passion for God may result in some new recipes for reaching out and sharing the love that feeds our souls.
 
Whether you are an elected member of the annual conference or not, there are ways you can participate, either at home or at the session at Grove City College. Begin by praying for the leaders, the members, and our Church. Then reflect on these questions:
 
• How have you fed spiritual hungers through your ministries this past year?
• What are you hungry for in your own spiritual life and ministry?
 
Here are some other ways that you can become more involved if you are able to come to Grove City.
 
  • Volunteer to sing in our Conference Choir. Contact our Conference worship team coordinator Rev. Kevin Haley at revkev@atlanticbbn.net or 814-723-9440.
  • Bring your Confirmation Class to be recognized. Because Annual Conference falls on Pentecost Sunday, the day many churches hold confirmation, confirmands from all over the Annual Conference are invited to come and be recognized by Bishop Bickerton during our the annual conference Sunday morning worship celebration. If your confirmands would like to participate, contact Conference Worship Coordinator Kevin Haley at revkev@atlanticbbn.net or 814-723-9440.as soon as possible (no later than May 14).
  • Visit the Conference for a day. See the displays, experience worship and fellowship and see how official business is conducted. Details will be posted at wpaumc.org
  • Watch sessions on live streaming video at wpaumc.org. 
This year at Annual Conference, come hungry! We are expecting miracles!
