If you could simply reply back, so that I can develop a

Winnie Brinkley was a long time secretary (approx.

40 yrs)  at the 1st UMC in Brookville, PA.  I believe she

also attended Grove City Conferences representing

her church for quite a few years, as well.  Perhaps some

of the conference pastors and lay members remember her.

She passed on a couple weeks ago after an illness.

Please keep my father, Rev. Thomas St. Clair, in prayer. Dad had reconstructive foot surgery three weeks ago.

He broke a bone in his foot sometime during the spring and with his MS, multiple bones began to break after the initial break. He had no feeling due to the neuropathy. His foot began to collapse and thus, the reason for the reconstructive surgery. He had 9 rods, 1 plate and bone taken from under his knee to repair his damaged foot. Over this past weekend, Dad developed an abscess tooth and the infection spread to his foot, placing him back in the hospital. He is now home after a heavy dose of antibiotics, but will be immobile for 3-6 months as no weight is allowed on that foot for the duration of the 3-6 months. Please keep dad and my mom, Susan in prayer as he recovers. Also, a praise of thanksgiving to God for William Meekins Jr. and Dick Markle for great coverage at Irwin 1st and visits over this period of time. They have been ever so wonderful. God’s Grace,

gout or arthritis in his right knee.  He is walking with a

walker and has trouble getting up and down out of a recliner.

He has a problem when trying to bend his knee. Will

take a little time for it to heal.  Good to have him home

again.  Maxine

Norman and Janet,

We have two blessings to report.

Our newest grandchild, Cara Rose North, was born to our

daughter Jessica and her husband Ryan on August 23, 2007.

Because she was accommodating enough to be born

perfectly healthy and 3-weeks early (she was due on

September 12), she and her two brothers (Caleb 4 1/2 and

Cody 3), were able to make the trip from Vicksburg, MS to

Washington PA to attend their uncle's wedding.

That's our second blessing.  On September 15 Jim

officiated as our son JR (James Robert) was married to

Jamie Catherine Stoddard.  Oh what a blessing it was to

have family and friends with us from all over the country

to share our joys.  God is good....all the time.

He's been waiting for a liver treansplant, but his entire body has shut down. He's on continuous dialysis, and a respirator. They called all the family in yesterday. Many thanks for the prayers for my sister, Nancy.  She finally had her left knee replaced a week ago Wednesday.  She is home now and plans to return to work soon.  She had suffered for almost three years with overwhelming pain and disability, on crutches.  The first attempt in July was aborted after an infection was found in the joint before it could be replaced.  Now, she gains strength and determination to have the second knee replaced on December 3, 2007.  Keep her in your prayers for healing now and surgery in the near future.  Blessings to all and thanks again - Mary Jane Fullerton

Subject: Pete DeGerlando
Pete went into the hospital in Titusville early this morning.  He was having some problems and I didn't know what to do with him.  I called 911 and after taking his vitals here they took him to the hospital.  He seemed to feel fine on Sat. and Sun.  We went to his great granddaughter's 16th year party which was outside around a fire and it was cold on Sat. and windy. He had complained of being cold.  We didn't stay too long.  Then in church on Sun. he was cold.  He had on a suit jacket, but the heat was not up too high. He is always cold.  He had a fever also.  They decided that he has pneumonia.  All he wanted to do was sleep when I was there.  Had to wake him tonight when I went to see him.  He thinks he will be there at least 2 days.  May know more tomorrow.  He has had a lot of problems the last better than a year. Just seems he gets over one thing and then something else turns up.  Maxine
====================================================================
From: onlyme1118@aol.com = Jaime Potter Alvarez
Hi Norm and Janet,
I was hospitalized last week for double pneumonia, pleurisy and an intercostal infection where several ribs had separated from my sternum.  As my bone mass continues to decrease due to osteoporosis, these problems could become more frequent.  The pain I experience from the fractures inhibits deep breathing; shallow breathing contributes to the chance of pneumonia and pleurisy.  Right now, the pain from the pleurisy (lower right lobe of my lungs) is the most bothersome.  I'm asking for prayer right now for the acute pain, and long-haul for my bones.  I've just recently had my osteoporosis medication changed, and hope and pray for an increase in bone mass before my next dexascan.
In God's grace,
Jaime Potter Alvarez

It seems rather strange to insert oneself into this news channel but I would like to clarify my state of health for those who have not heard of late.
I should explain that this is my second go-round with ovarian cancer.
The first time was in 2000 and the extreme treatment of Taxol proved worth the side effects and kept me going for over 7 years.  Now here we go again.
Because of rather devastating results the first chemo given me (Taxotere) was discontinued after two treatments and  I am now on a less toxic brew (Gemzar with alternate carbon platinum addition ) and have now had four treatments with much less side effects.  The Taxotere was doing its work and the tumor had shrunk  but after another six weeks we'll see what the cat scan show with this new treatment. Thanks again for your prayers and concern.
Chuck and I were able to mark our 55th anniversary at a lodge in McCormick's Creek State Park in Spencer, Indiana where we spent our honeymoon.  There were l4 of us celebrating just being together.  So many bright spots remain.
